Cardiologist & Senior Clinical Researcher, Radcliffe Department of Medicine, University of Oxford
I am a medical doctor trained at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, with a PhD in cardiovascular genetics from the University of Newcastle and cardiology training in Spain. Since 2014, I have worked as a consultant cardiologist with a focus on inherited cardiac conditions. My career combines extensive clinical and research experience, particularly in genotype–phenotype correlations, My work has helped establish important recent gene–disease associations in the field. I am closely involved in the clinical arm of CureHeart, focusing on predicting HCM phenotype severity and understanding the factors that influence it, including polygenic inheritance.
