On Sunday 21 June, three members of the CureHeart team in Oxford completed the BHF London to Brighton Bike Ride. The team were: Dr Paul Robinson (Senior postdoctoral researcher), Max Hill (PhD student), Dr Ruth McCaffrey (Programme manager) and they were joined by Ruth's husband, Prof Pete Nellist.
Along with over 14,000 other riders, they cycled 54 miles / 87 km, with an elevation gain of approx. 1,000 meters / 3,000 ft. It was a very hot day, which added to the challenge.
They undertook the challenge to fundraise for the BHF, as a thank you for their generous support for the CureHeart programme. They raised nearly £2,000! A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored them (it's not too late to donate - click here).
It was a brilliant day!
