My role is to assist with the day-to-day running of the project, with a particular focus on communications between the researchers, and sharing the story with our various publics. I am a key contact for research teams, and patient enquiries, and liaise with our funder, the BHF, and patient partners. I am also responsible for maintaining our website and providing project updates.
I started my career as a communications specialist in the City of London. I subsequently acquired a PGDip in Applied Linguistics from the University of Birmingham and the Diplome Superieur D'Etudes Francaises from the University of Toulouse. During many years working in France, I was a freelance comms writer, and media relations manager at Airbus, where my work focused on liaison with journalists and PR agencies, and communicating complex stories to an international lay public. I transferred these skills to scientific research at the University of Oxford in 2019, and have supported CureHeart since its launch in 2022.
